I'm confused. How does Microsoft actually pull-out the updates? I had to force stop Delivery Optimization for it to stop downloading the update as I am not ready to update yet.

1903 is being pushed to upgrade those machines running older versions of the OS.

So this becomes useless whenever a feature update is ready to roll-out?

Hi, you're in the wrong channel (targeted), you must select the other one, then feature updates should be deferred.

Does not apply to 1903 rollout.

You haven't actually told us which version and build number you are currently on. Without knowing that it's difficult to say what is going on here.

Apologies for the lack of info.

    I'm using 1809 17763.615
    .
The update seemed to be gone. All I have to do now is not to press the "Check for Updates" button.

No, you are free to click 'check for updates' without starting the download of 1903. A features update is now entirely optional in both Home and Pro, nothing will happen unless you click 'Download and install now'.

Starting with update KB4497934, we are introducing functionality that allows you to decide when to install a feature update. You control when you get a feature update while simultaneously keeping your devices up to date. Feature updates that are available for eligible devices will appear in a separate module on the Windows Update page (Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update). If you would like to get an available update right away, select Download and install now.
    Cumulative Update KB4507469 Windows 10 v1809 Build 17763.615 - July 9

Even with 'defer' set to 0 the feature update will not install until you ask it to.

Same thing happened to me on Win 10 1809 on the Monday before Patch Tuesday when I installed the July updates. Did the Wife's Pro Desktop and Kid's Home laptop without any problems but when I did the Batcave (spare) Desktop running Pro it started downloading with that same message. Rebooted and that went away. Thought it was something one-off so didn't say anything
