It's common for there to be two recovery partitions after an upgrade esp. if Windows could not increase the size of the original. You can find which one is in use and delete the other.

I'm surprised you could boot into Safe Mode though- how did you do that?

And note that the drive letters suddenly seem correct. Perhaps there's something a little erratic that might return at some point.
Thanks a lot for all the help!

I got into safe mode by just starting my BIOS Boot Selection and picking "Windows Bootloader". It gave me the option to go into Safe mode without any hassle. This kind of confirmed it was a driver issue all along i think.

Yeah the drive lettering has been restored back to normal in some amazing fashion. Could there be an inactive EFI partition as well?
Could you perhaps elaborate how i can see which of my recovery partitions is the active one? (So i can clean up the old one).
Google gets a bit lost in terminology i think. All hits only explain how to actually create a recovery partition.

    PS.
Nice how your prompt window is transparent too. Is that an aeroglass mod or something?

    Windows Recovery Environment

Read thru that for an understanding of what this does, then post#4 to create a log file
It may be that your recovery partition is too small.

If no other option, see post #6

It seems to have done something this time!
Should i just delete the other partition labeled 'Recovery' now, using some third party partitioning tool?

Disk Management should be able to cope I think- it's not related to Windows now.
As always, use disk imaging as a precaution.

Try Minitool Partition Wizard or similar - 3rd party partition manager. You set these up with a job using their GUI, and that's executed on restart if it can't be applied otherwise.
