    Kb4346084

Hello,From time to time I look into microsoft update catalog for new updates for my win 10 1803, auto update disabled.Today I found a 'new' update KB4346084 dated 13-Aug-2019.When downloaded this update, it was V-3, the exact update file was issued first on 9-Apr-2019 and again on 11-Jun-2019 and I installed the first one. I tried to reinstall it but was refused - found installed already. Please explain to me, are microsoft people have short memory, or do I have to uninstall the previous and install (the same again) ?Answers will be appreciated.Thanks.Motim

Updates toKB can be done and packaged inside would be those changes that update has found when it scanned your system, those updated KB's need toe download3d and installed.

Looks like that one is an Intel Microcode update. It can be re-issued if more cpus are added to the supported list. So, no, there's nothing for you to do. If you were on auto WU, it would never have been offered again, but since you're doing it manually, you saw an incremented date and thought you needed it. Nothing MS can do about that.

As another example, Shawn just now posted a similar update for v1809. It was released because additional CPUs were added. Same situation for you v1803.

It's a recent windows update (WU) "metadata" change for KB4346084 only, adding more cpu detection.

btw, KB4346084 is superseded by KB4494451. if you install the KB4494451 update, you won't be offered the KB4346084 update from WU
