Windows 10 Restart and Update To Stay in Support Update?

I use windows 10. Got message that says

Restart and update to stay in support

Support for the windows 10 april 2018 update ends in november 2019. Restart to install a supporrted version of windows

    Pick a time
    restart tonight
    restart now

Do you all just restart now? Is it possible to click the arrow on the upper right corner of the message to hide this message? But if i do this, then next time i will get the same message?

If i pick a time, it automatically updates it at that time regardness of what im doing?

Should i just restart now and let it update? Any issues with it going wrong when its updating? Im always hesistant when doing a windows 10 update.

This message is appearing for people still using Windows 10 1803. It's just advising that you'll need to update in the next few months to stay in a supported version.
Just do a backup now, and then let it update.
99% of users have no trouble, and if you've got a backup, you can always go back.

While I wouldn't say there's a huge concern over 1903 I am much more confident that 1809 has produced less grief at least after it was fixed. I'm planning a clean install on an old laptop soon and plan to use 1809 because it is still available and I have more confidence in it.

1% of 700 million installs is 7 million. That's a huge pile of aggravation that I want no part of. YMMV

You can do that but you'll start getting the same messages six months from hence. 1903 should easily work with a clean install and has an easy to use Upgrade/Update postponement mechanism too.

It's a bit more than just advice. Looks like Windows Update has already downloaded the Feature Update to 1903 in the background and is now asking you when you want to take the final step of finishing off the install. It takes around an hour, so you are being given a choice of when (not if) it will upgrade your 1803 to 1903..

Microsoft auto-updating Windows 10 version 1803 and earlier to 1903

You have a bit longer than that. 1809 reaches end of support in May 2020, from the way MS are beginning to deal with 1803 I estimate the nagging will start in February 2020.

    Im bit confused here.

I think the last time i did a windows 10 update was around april 2018 or so. When i did the update, i don't recall how long it took. But you say this update takes 1 hour? Are you serious? So it would turn off computer and turn on over and over few times for this update? Does anyone know the update i did back in april 2018, how long that took? I dont recall it took more than 20 minutes at the max?

So right now i just click on the arrow and closed it. But im sure this message will pop up sometime later right? That april 2018 update, i recall i delayed it so much by closing it. But then one time it automatically updated itself.

Do i need to do this update or not? If so, i will do it. If not, then keep delaying it? My concern is update causes my computer issue like it bricking or something... im always hesistant of a windows 10 update.

You can procrastinate if you like and keep delaying. But not forever. As you have been previously told.

You will likely get it sooner or later whether you think you need it or not. Without heroic measures, it's not up to you.

You take a chance whenever you say yes to an update. That's always been true and will remain so.

Procrastinate or not. Your call entirely.

Hi. Well last time when it had that update, i procrastinated. I did that for a few months and then one night it automatically updated itself. But does anyone know how long that april 2018 update took? I don't recall it taking more than 20 minutes max for it to fully update.

So the people who did this update, how long did it take? Also when did you get this update message? Am i receiving this message around the right time? Or did tons of ppl already gotten this message months ago and updated it already?

Okay so basically i have to update no matter what within 6 months. So might as well update it soon then right? Now has anyone had anything go wrong or know anyone that had their computer go wrong when they did this windows 10 update?
