So if those settings are only for business in an enterprise environment, then why do I have those settings available in my personal computer?

It says those settings are for:

    Applies to

    • Windows 10
    • Windows Server 2016
    • Windows Server 2019

Windows Update for Business is a free service that is available for Windows Pro, Enterprise, Pro for Workstation, and Education editions.
Looking for consumer information. So where is the setting for us consumers in gpedit?

Seems you're going round and round an issue which has already been identified and a workaround identified. As I suggested near the beginning, @f14tomcat has kindly provided the reg file.

I've just updated my Win 10 Pro to 1903, found the deferral period missing, applied the reg file, and (as Bree mentioned in the related thread) manually checked for updates.

After that, the deferral period was back in Settings.

It's also available in the Group Policy Editor.

Yes. I did run the reg file. The deferral settings did come back, although they disappear again with a second manual windows update check. So I’m hanging on to the reg files and using group policy editor to make my adjustments. Thanks.

Hi, just tried a 2nd manual update check, and the 365 day option is still there in Settings, albeit both when it appeared first and now it's greyed out. (I had set the 365 day period in group policy before doing the first manual update check).

At least the group policy editor still shows the Notify and Deferral period options.

If it brings it back permanently using Group Policy Editor, can someone send me instructions ?

I will go over this entire thread again because I think it was shown already.

But I would appreciate any help.

    Thanks, Brian

    a. Merge f14tomcat's reg file
    b. Manually run Windows Update
