Digital License says Windows Home, not Pro

I've been a member since February 2016, but haven't had a lot to say. I have learned a lot by reading, and I wish to thank all of you for the knowledge.

    Today I have a problem...

I purchased a $99 upgrade from Microsoft for Win 10 Pro, a few days ago. The upgrade went fine.

Yesterday, I upgraded my RAM from 8GB to 16 (don't know why - just playing, I guess). I then reinstalled Windows from a retail USB stick for Home, and upgraded it to 1903 using Windows Update Assistant.

When I went to activate the Digital License to retrieve the Pro upgrade, I found the following from Microsoft:

"Windows is activated with a digital license linked to your Microsoft account"

However the version is says it's linked to, is Home not Pro.

I don't know what to do next, to retrieve Pro. Any help with this would be highly appreciated.

    Hi,
Yep MS don't give activation keys with version upgrades you'll just have to deal with a ms account sign in and sync with your upgrade version.

If 10 is also a upgrade from win-7 or 8 it further complicates activation.

Plenty of cheap legitimate 10 activation codes out there oem and retail which actually come with keys to use for a fraction ms charges for their non hope they activate upgrades or full installs tied to a ms account.

Change your product key on the activation screen to the generic key for Pro:
