Feature Update 1903 fails, error code 0x80070005

I recently updated to 1903 on my main desktop PC running 1809 Pro edition with no issues.

But on another desktop and on a laptop, both running 1809 Home edition, the update failed with error code 0x80070005.
The update preps, downloads, and installs to 100%, and only then fails.

0x80070005 usually means a permissions problem, but the main (only) user account is an administrator.

I ran the Microsoft Windows Update Troubleshooter from the website, and no problems were found.
And tried to install the security program - it said it was already installed.

I had just run a bunch of 1809 updates just prior to the 1903 upgrade on both machines and they all went off without a hitch. I ran a disk cleanup afterwards and included the Windows Update Cleanup.
I also disabled antivirus during the install.
I restarted both Pcs and tried the update again with the same result.

Looking for new things to try.

    It's installing now.
I left it off for the afternoon and decided "what the heck" and gave it another go before dinner. Didn't bother with cleanup or turning off AV. Just let it go and it installed.
Maybe something to do with the updates in 1809 before upgrade?

    Gremlins!

Double check the install. The Windows Update Troubleshooter and others by MS are almost laughable.

My 06-2019 Quality Update (June 27) Win-10 Version 1903 64-bit constantly fails and rolls-back upon PC restart. Error code 0x80070003.

Windows Troubleshooter has a new look, but it's functionality is as useless as it's been since Windows XP.

When Windows asks us for feedback on failed upgrades, does Microsoft really read what we say? I don't want to waste a lot of time writing something that won't be read.

    @TV2 -

    In the future...

I would suggest enabling the built-in administrator account and running WU from there if you have a strange problem.
It's worth a shot and has fixed a few problems for me in the past:

Enable or Disable Elevated Administrator account in Windows 10

Hope this is of use to you.
