    KB4023057 (problems)

this isnt really a call for advice or help, but more curious about others experiences regarding the KB4023057 update that installed on the 20th of June.

over the past few days l noticed my laptops download speed massively drop and today out of frustration spent the last few hours messing around and the only thing that had installed within the last week or so was the above windows update so l decided to remove it after noticing my 50mbps download speed dropping to 1mbps (my other devices were downloading at the rate expected), originally l thought l was having wireless issues which lead me to messing around with router settings however after removing the update and using an app from windows to hide the update lve regained my full speed again it seems..

lm curious as to if others had experienced this issue?

Oddly enough, it was somewhere around the 20th or 21st that I saw my laptop really struggling with extremely slow transfers over WiFi even on my local home network. I noticed that it had switched to my 2.4GHz connection. Got it back on 5GHz and now it zips along nicely. I simply dismissed it as a fluke and hadn't thought that maybe an update was responsible somehow.

me neither, l spent ages researching and somehow thought it could be some sort of interference issue, while l did play around with my router settings l couldnt change to the recommended channel (mine only goes up to 48 so couldnt change to recommended 56 my analyser program was suggesting), further googling yielded a post about some radeon streaming service (which l dont have) and it sort of lead me to wonder what had installed in the past week which lead me to an Adobe and windows update, an older version of the file supposedly cause problems for people so l uninstalled on the off chance ran some MS troubleshooter l downloaded from the MS site so l could skip the update.

after a reboot l was back up to 57meg download speeds.
