    Removing leftover windows update file?

Yesterday i clean windows update file from system setting > storage > Free up space. Because this already in the middle of the night and the progress take too long also i think its stuck in "purging: windows update cleanup" status so i turn off my pc and continue tomorrow. And today i try to run free up space again to continue, but those windows update file are gone. At the first i think the progress already done when i turn off my pc but its doesnt because i check my hard drive space its only increasing 1gb. And those windows update file size is around 4gb so there is 3gb leftover file in my computer. But i cant find it. How do i remove this ?

    You might try
Reset Windows Update in Windows 10

To view how your drive is used and quickly highlight large files or folders, use e.g. Wiztree (free) which gives a helpful graphical display.

so i turned off my pc and continue tomorrow.
    - it sounds as if you turned off your PC in the middle of what it was doing- this is not at all a good idea and could well cause problems.

If you had hibernated it, or put it to sleep, that would have been appropriate.

    Thank you for your reply.

On the one hand you say
' But i cant find it. How do i remove this ?'
    then you say
its taking too much time to only remove 4gb file.
so I wonder how you can be trying to delete what you can't find?

How long is too long? It could be that having turned off your PC like that you need to run
    chkdsk c: /F
from an admin command or powershell prompt to fix problems created.
Expect this to take some time. Your PC will need to restart.

File system problems could slow file handling.

It may be you now have some corruption having turned off your PC.

The problem might be, that windows keeps searching for updates automatically and while its processes/services are running, the cleanup can not proceed, yet a corrupted cache will prevent it from ever finishing searching, so it is a never ending circle. Try this, download Windows Cleanup and run it as admin.
