How to re-activate Windows after hardware upgrade?

    Hi,
I have a (legit) copy of Windows 10 and I've just upgraded my PC's motherboard and GPU. Windows is telling me that I need to activate again my license. When I choose the "I've recently upgrade my hardware" option, I'm redirected to the Windows store to buy a new copy of Windows

How can I re-activate my license without buy a new one?

    cheers,
    Tex

I don't really want to pay twice for the same software even if it's cheap :/

    Hi,
If the key does not work you'll have to call ms and explain your view you have a 50/50% chance of ms agreeing maybe.

Also, if the previous install of Windows was OEM, it is not transferrable.

If it was a retail license was it linked to your MS live id (login)?
Link Microsoft Account to Windows 10 Digital License

    and see
Use Activation Troubleshooter in Windows 10

Is it telling just that? It should state the reason. If you just need to re-activate, this should do. Start - Run:
    Code:
    slmgr.vbs /ato
    Activate Windows 10

Windows tells that I need to activate, when I do so, there is an error message telling "Windows detected that the hardware changed. Error code 0xC004F211" . (translated from French)

    When I run the
    Code:
    slmgr.vbs /ato
as Admin, I get an error message telling me that I should run this command to get its meaning:

    Code:
    slui.exe 0x2a 0x803F7001
When I run this command as admin, I get another error message telling me that the error code was not found (Windows FTW )

No it was not linked to a MS Live account. I use btw the same MS id as on the previous hardware to log in to the new Windows installation. When I try to reactivate using my Microsoft account, it tells me "Cannot find any device linked to your Microsoft account that could be used to re-activate your current device" This makes sense as I never linked any devices to a Microsoft account

I'll go through the links you posted to see if anything works. If not I'll call them

    thanks
