How long do you defer updates?

I myself defer them for 14 days, so that whatever errors happen have time to get fixed back up. So what about everyone else? Do you not defer yours at all, set it for a couple of weeks or even longer? Just curious as to how everyone else prefers to handle updates.

I download the ISO file as soon as it is available and do a manual upgrade on day one. I'm already in 1903 on my laptop

With a current Macrium image of my systems I can afford to install cumulative updates as soon as they are released, safe in the knowledge I can restore my images if the latest CU introduces any significant bugs.

Features updates I take a bit more care, I currently have a VM running a 'clone' of my main machine, restored from its Macrium image. That VM has been updated to 1903 as a test.

0 hours, 0 minutes and 0 seconds after a FULL SYSTEM BACKUP of course.

I defer feature updates for 3-6 months to give MS time to sort out any bugs since I can't be bothered to faff about solving problems from poorly engineered updates

I don't apply feature updates until at least the first subsequent major update is out, keeping an eye on reports. After all, the earliest reports of 1809 seemed ok... oops.

Routine updates- immediately after updating my disk image set.

I'm running LTSC 2019 which allows you to turn off automatic updates completely, which is how I have it set. I do cumulative updates manually, download them through the Microsoft Update Catalog. I'll check a cu is free of issues before I apply it. It's not uncommon to see glaring issues with these updates, MS quality control was never good and it's only gotten worse.

I don't do feature updates since LTSC is on a three year release cycle. I won't get any feature updates until LTSC releases again in two to three years. No problem here, I never got any features I really wanted or needed even going from win7 to win10. I'd actually still be on win7 right now if it wasn't for buying a new machine that requires win10 hardware support.
