What's the latest on 1809 update KB 4489899? Solved

What's the latest on 1809 update KB 4489899?

The past weeks I read about audio problems after installing KB 4489899, but has it been re-released meanwhile and is it now safe to install?

The version offered to me through WuMgr is:
2019-03 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1809 for x64-based Systems (KB4489899); Security Update; 12.03.2019

The strange thing is (to me at least) that Windows Catalog says its meanwhile replaced by 4490481, which again is replaced by 4493509 which has problems of its own: Microsoft confirms two Known Issues for recent Windows 10 updates - gHacks Tech News

    My situation:
Stand-alone Windows 10 Pro 1809 (new install), now on build 17763.316

    EDIT:
@moderators Search doesn't provide any results om my query "KB4489899" or "4489899", although I did find a thread through Crookle Cumulative Update KB4489899 Windows 10 v1809 Build 17763.379 - Mar. 12.

In that same thread I may have found the answer:

well Cliff S, KB4489899 causes that problem only if there are multiple audio outputs or playback devices for Realtek HD audio (speakers, realtek digital output [SPDIF], etc.) and the output selected is not the "default audio device."

If only the "Speakers" output is listed on the Sound properties playback tab for Realtek audio (usually on ALC2xx codecs), then KB449899 is safe to install.

you may want to mention this in the Realtek audio sound threads to those using win10 v1809

Otherwise, wait for the next cumulative update in late March and skip KB4489899, which I will do

I went ahead and installed 4489899. Realtek audio is doing fine.
    Thanks @erpster4

though I am kinda late in responding to this but did you know that the KB4489899 cumulative update (build 17763.379) is included onto the re-released 1809 "V2" ESD & ISO installation media when Microsoft declared the 1809 version into the Semi Annual Channel [SAC] on Thursday March 28?

Microsoft posted these new 1809 V2 ISOs on the Windows 10 ISO download page that include the KB4489899 update so yes the KB4489899 is not only safe to install but is integrated onto the updated 1809 ISO downloads:
    Win10_1809Oct_v2_English_x64.iso (64bit)
    Win10_1809Oct_v2_English_x32.iso (32bit)

if you use any of these 1809 v2 isos to re-install Win10 v1809 from scratch, you'll have build 17763.379
