Here is my ultimate recommendation - I might be accused of disparaging the product here, but I am doing this in my capacity as a customer advocate.
These feature updates are not thoroughly engineered and are rushed mostly to meet deadlines. They have become highly unnecessary in some instances. My opinion, focus on the apps and less on having the latest version of Windows. If your apps are working fine and you are getting your work done, minimize your need to jump on the latest release. Don't let the word 'unsupported' put fear into you thinking that its the end of the world.

As a former MVP, and Windows Insider MVP, IMHO he is one smart lad, and doesn't say that lightly. I totally agree with what he said. Latest doesn't necessarily mean greatest. Not since the new regime have taken over at Microsoft.

Hopefully they'll see the light soon. I'm surprised Bill Gates hasn't weighed in.
BTW I too was once an MVP.

2013 to 2016 as a Microsoft MVP for me. Then they threw all of us on the consumer side, under the bus and made us Windows Insider MVP's. Went down hill from there IMHO. I renewed for 2017 but decided not to reapply in 2018.
I'm not sure what's going on at Microsoft these days. I don't think the right hand knows what the left hand is doing most days.

It's such a shame to see a once reliable company slide downhill like that.

Its all about the "cloud" these days. And IoT. Thats how it seems to me anyway. I so don't care these days its not even funny. Well I do care, but as near as I can tell they aren't listening to consumers so why bother.

Well it looks like I’ll be hanging on to my W7 Ultimate SP1 for a while beyond 2020, unless something changes at the MS end. I have W10 Pro and Enterprise installed on separate drives. Pro wont go above 1709 and Ent above 1607.

I'm not sure why, but I'm hoping 1903 shows up on My Visual Studio before my subscription runs out. It runs out on May 17th. After that I will be locked out from downloading any ISO from my Enterprise subscription, and be limited to what I can get via the Media creation Tool. The Media creation tool is good, but I can get the Business / Enterprise ISO via My Visual Studio. I'll get to keep all my Product codes so I'm good for just about any version of Windows I want to install, 10, 8, 7, etc. All the way back to 3.11 for Workgroups lol. I'll keep running Windows 10 as long as my hardware will support it. Or they do something to it that I really don't like. Windows 7 would be likely where I'd go in that case. I'll always have Windows running on at least one PC I own.
