after update to windows 10 v1809 insane input lag

    Hey,
i had recently update to windows 1809 and after that my nvidia drivers wasn't launching and i couldn't uninstall them, i uninstalled them afterall with ddu and performed clean install to latest drivers.
Now i have insane input lag, that my games are unplayable. I read a lot of articles about windows update causing lag and found nothing usefull. Who knows why is it happening, it could be million things. Also my setting reseted like prefetch turned on and services setting reseted, god this is so garbage, after every update every little setting can reset and everything is not that easy like make reg vale to change value, it would take so much time to make like program to set all up after every update, i had 1000 little tweaks on my system, i don't even remember them all.
Any ideas, maybe it is something major why this lag is happening? really tired of this, Thank you.

Ha i noticed it created restore point, i restored it and it is fixed.
How do i update manually, automatic updates are problematic.

Hi, do you have Home or Pro?

I will assume Home. Pro offers Notify and Defer options.
    1. Stop updates.
Stop Windows 10 Updates Properly and Completely Solved - Windows 10 Forums

    2. Use either
    Windows Update Manager
    or
    Windows Update Minitool
    (free)
    - these scan for updates when you wish, and you select what you want or not with check boxes, WU, drivers and defender updates and more.

    3. All Windows updates have manual download links shown in the relevant article per update per build in the News section.

    4. Remember to use Active Hours in Settings.

Unfortunately you must always prepare for the worst. for example, your disk could fail, an update or upgrade leave your PC unbootable, etc etc.

I make sure the GUI mods I've made are readily reproducible and do not require many actions to achieve them.

The routine use of disk imaging (e.g. Macrium Reflect-free) is strongly and repeatedly recommended- you were lucky System restore completed- it often doesn't. Whilst disk imaging is not equivalent to S.R. it does help should you have dramatic failure when SR can't, and gives you a chance to revert to a previous good working state as well as a full backup of disks/partitions imaged.

download windows update manager (wumgr) from here.
or the WUMT wrapper script which bundles windows update minitool

How do i enable windows update again. I tried to enable it via script and updates doesn't work and gives this error - picture. Reason i want this: is in wumngr or how it calls, there isn't listed update to build 1903.
In readme is nothing and i google finds no tutorial.

1903 isn't out for public release via Windows Update yet.

    - so what's the error indication?
    You could...
    - run the W U troubleshooter
    - do an in-place upgrade repair install (tutorial available here)
    - try using Tweaking.com's free cautious repair tool and select only the relevant repairs.

I don't think you've given a context for your error message. What did you do that led to this?

Given your series of problems, I suggest you step back, check your disk, run
    chkdsk c: /scan
    from an admin command prompt

    If ok run
    SFC /SCANNOW
    from an admin command prompt

If ok, perform an in-place upgrade repair install

If all is ok then, create a disk image of Windows using MAcrium Reflect (free) so you've something to fall back on when things fall apart again - and keep that current by creating differential images periodically.

Keep a simple log of changes and the creation of disk images.

That will help you avoid panics and the need for technical help as you would quite often be able to restore an image to get back to a previous working state.

    image backup of system
    - good- hopefully a 3rd party disk imaging program, not the in-built system image.

No, doesn't have to be after every small event- just at sensible intervals, and before any major change.

Keep a simple log so you can backtrack if necessary.

And you can supplement disk imaging with specific data backup for any critical fast-changing files.

    One way:
Microsoft makes Windows 10 1903 available on MSDN | ZDNet

    Or become an Insider.
Download Windows 10 May 2019 Update Before Anyone Else

Then bear in mind any pre-release builds can be problematic. And so can first release public builds- witness MS's debacle over 1809.

I don't have msdn subscription and windows insider doesn't work after setting data collection to enhanced and deleting software distribution folder and setting in registry and gpedit.msc both. Still windows insider is greyed out. I tried even regedit file from this site, doesn't work either.
BTw tried checkdisk and found no errors, i don't know if it was complete test it tested in widnows, while i remember i did restart pc and checked for long time.
