    Power options question

So I plan on doing an windows update to 1809, my question is when it restarts to the screen where instead of don’t power off your pc, it says “this will take a while” can i still have the lid closed or do I have to open it.

Edit I am aware of the option to “do nothing when the lid is closed”. I have that option on.

Closing the lid puts most laptops in sleep mode. Leave the lid open and connect the charger just in case the battery runs low during the upgrade.

And as ever, before making any major change, do make sure your disk image is current (e.g. Macrium Reflect - free + external storage for images) so you can be sure of recovering if sthg goes badly wrong.

(It took me 3 attempts from 1709 to 1809 because of a minor issue).

No I’m talking about the power option “do nothing when the lid is closed”, my question was can I perform the update with that power option
