For the last few days this update has been trying to install itself and it fails every time.

    The event message is:

This problem continues, so I tried the

"Show or hide updates" troubleshooter package ("wushowhide.diagcab")

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3073930

Which lets me hide that update.

Unfortunately, it didn't stay hidden, now it's back again, ... and, again....

This exact same update keeps coming back and logs the same error message.

wushowhide.diagcab - hides it, but it still comes back.

Searching for clues shows similar problems for other users, but it is not very common.

The only thing I know is that I installed Office 2010 on Windows 7 Pro on this computer and then I upgraded in-place to Windows 8 Pro, then Windows 8.1 Pro and now Windows 10 Pro. All these were updates, not clean installs.

I encountered issues with this earlier update when it had a lower KB number, but I think that went away or got fixed.

It's not terribly important to me because I rarely use Office, it's just that I like to run a clean ship.

That link in Firefox gave a message that IE6 or later needed to be used so I opened IE11 and get the message the page has been moved or does not exist.

As a personal note, all of my updates since installing on 7/29/15 have numbers of 3xxxxxx, none lower so I wander what KB2565063 is for.

    3. In Local Security Policy, right click Software Restriction Policies and click “New Software Restriction Policy”.
    4. Now Left click on software restriction policies and in the right-hand window you should see an a enforcement.
    5. Double-click on enforcement and set the policy to apply to “ALL USERS EXCEPT LOCAL ADMINISTRATORS”

Approve the changes and check if you’re able to uninstall.
    Method 2:
    1. Click Start, type regedit and hit Enter.
    Locate the following:
    HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer
Create: DisableMSI Type: REG_DWORD value = 0 (0 should allow you to install)
    2. Browse to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\

Browse through and find your product. Delete the key relating to your product and this should allow the application to install.

Also, try uninstalling ALL of Visual C++ products and reinstall with THIS update Download Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package MFC Security Update from Official Microsoft Download Center .
