Still haven't received 1809 update as of 1/23/2019

Both my PC and Laptop (both Hewlett Packard) have not received the 1809 update even if I manually click Check for Updates. I currently have version 1803. Has anyone else still not received this update yet? I know I can download and install it but am apprehensive to do so. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Hi, this question is often asked here.

So, again, MS is coy after the disaster and embarrassment of 1803 and 1809. 1809 is generally fine now, but release by Windows Update is very limited. That release has some protection in place by MS so it is not delivered to known problematic PCs. You can bypass that by manually updating. The iso is free to download. See the relevant News thread in the News section.

Please update the specs for both computers:

System Specs - Fill in at Ten Forums | Tutorials
In the left corner below in your post you find 'My System Specs'.
After clicking it you can find a link a little below that says 'Update your System Spec', click on this link to get to the page where you can fill in your system specs.
System Info - See Your System Specs - Windows 7 Help Forums

Include PSU. cooler, case, peripherals and anything attached to the computer by wired or wireless (mouse, keyboard, headset, printer, xbox, USB wireless network card, etc.)

Enter the product or serial number or model in the HP website > enter the models into the Ten Forums "My Computer" section > select the operating system > view drivers > download HP support assistant and HP softpaq download manager depending upon which are available > update all drivers and BIOS as needed

Thanks for the replies. I decided to wait about another month to see if Windows Update rolls out the 1809 update and if not I may try using the Windows Update Assistant. I think that if it finds any compatibility issues it won't complete the installation process.

I'm still waiting and have no desire to manually install 1809 via MCT, 1803 works fine. When 1809 is deemed ready for prime time roll out so be it...

Also patiently waiting for MS to determine if my system should have v.1809. 1803 works just fine and I'm not about to fix it. Just making system images on a regular basis.

I would not worry about it until it is your machine's time. MS just started pushing it back out again. You can force it with the Update Assistant Tool. Update to Latest Version of Windows 10 using Update Assistant | Tutorials

With reference to the last 3 responses, I fully agree and decided to just wait until 1809 is rolled out from WU as 1803 also works fine here. I basically wanted to know if there were other people that still didn't get the update delivered yet from WU. Thanks for all of your inputs.

I had to push it with the WUA on a HP Desktop that I was installing 10 on. No issues with it. It is of course a AMD desktop and have not had any issues as of yet with 1809.

The rollout strategy continues to mystify.

During December's holiday sales I got a Dell Optiplex machine which came with 1709 Pro installed. I left the update settings at default, and over some weeks of use it continued to install updates to 1709, drivers, antivirus defs, etc.

Last night it started churning in the background so clearly something was afoot. When I went and checked, it was downloading .... wait for it .... 1803.
