To a degree my friend, however, I am still running on 1803 at present. Are you saying that 1809 is on it's way?

Well I got hung up on the fact you don't seem to want 1809. So you still have 1803 and it's properly updated: sorry I didn't understand it that way. But it's obvious Microsoft has come through for you.

Not you old chap, probably my way of explanation.

Reason for my apprehension about 1809 is everything I have read and heard about problems it had caused to others, therefore, I was somewhat concerned about how many tweaks etc. I would end up having to make to get my computer back to any form of normality and what documentation I might end up losing.

The problem that this thread is about was that the aforementioned KB download was not being accepted by my computer as a Microsoft update download. This has now rectified itself as previously mentioned.

Anyway, many thanks to you and the rest of the guys and gal for coming to the rescue.

Yesterday, I took the leap & downloaded 1809 on my humble Dell Inspiron. It's running OK except I'm having to reset a few things. Thanks everyone for your input, which really helped!
