My follow up to my original thread:

As you can see, after 6 attempts at installing the update, I uninstalled 2018-11 from apps + features, rebooted and MS downloaded it again. Then it immediately downloaded 2019-1. Both successfully. And as you can see, it's back in apps + features. Don't know which download is the one in apps + features. But I'm sure MS knows what they're doing.

I tried what was posted in post #1. I did have KB4023057 in Programs and Features. I uninstalled it. Rebooted. And then tried to update it again. This was yesterday 03/29/19. Once again it failed. The update gets all the way to 100% installed and then fails with the message Update can not be installed. Reseting Windows. (Or something along those lines) I have been at this for over 2 weeks trying to get my computer updated. I am currently on version 1803 Build 17134.407. I have tried everything I could find on the internet and it all fails. I do have another entry for KB4480730 in Programs and Features also. I did not uninstall this one yesterday because it was not listed in the fix in Post #1. Does anyone else have this KB listed too? Should I uninstall both KB's listed in Programs and Features and try again? Other than that I am completely out of ideas.

ram, I believe KB4480730 was designed for 1803 windows update. What I would do is delete it from apps, reboot and try update again. MS will probably download another update file to handle 1809 update before the actual 1809 major update.

Failed again. I also used the media creation tool to try and install 1809. It got to the verifying PC and failed saying it can not confirm that Windows 10 can run on my PC. What the heck? I am already running Windows 10 1803. I am completely out of ideas. I'm going to wait and see if 1903 will install. If not then I will just stay on 1803. Thanks for the suggestion.

Have you checked your system for possible corrupt file? Maybe run sfc and dism online restorer.

Yes I have. And it all comes up clean with no issues.

This afternoon I uninstalled Eset Anivirus using their uninstall tool in safe mode. I then unplugged both of my external HDD's I use for backups. Uninstalled both KB's that were listed in Programs and Features. Rebooted and tried updates again. I had 2 cumulative updates and they both failed at the same point. They get to 100% installed and then I get the error message that they couldn't be installed. It appears that security updates are being installed without a problem. But any cumulative updates are failing at the same 100% installed point. I have been building and repairing computers for years and years. This one has me stumped. I really don't want to do a reformat and a clean install. I'll stay on 1803 build 17134.407 if it comes to that.

Hey all. Just wanted to let you know that I finally solved my update problems. Just in case anyone else needs this info here it is. A few months ago I upgraded my 2TB HDD to a 4TB HDD. I changed the HDD from MBR to GPT. I read some info on the internet on how to make this new drive bootable since I had cloned the old drive and did not want to lose any of my information. Once the drive was bootable I never thought twice about it as all my programs and files were still there. But Windows 10 updates would always fail. It turns out that I did not have the proper partitions in the proper order for Windows to update. The computer would boot and was stable. But I could not update it. So finally after correcting my errors today I am now up and running with 1903. I find it to be stable but just a bit slower that 1803 was. That might settle down though. I skipped 1809 altogether. So the problem was my fault. So if you have tried everything out there and Windows 10 still won't update check your partitions. Thanks to all of the responses and help I received here. Again it was my goof up. I could have reformatted and reinstalled Windows 10 but I didn't want to.
