Don't Believe "Get Windows 10 - You're Good to Go"

Sorry for the duplicate posting but I believe this is important.

At least for Dell computers and probably others as well. My XPS 8100 running Win 7 said good to go and now that I've updated there is one significant problem and another possibly related to Win 10. The significant problem is that the Ethernet connection keeps dropping out. Amazingly Windows can actually "repair" it until it drops out again. I've installed the original Broadcom driver which may, or may not, help. My other problem was with the WAMP server that I had to replace with XAMPP.

The good news (a little late) is that Dell has a complete list of Dell computers that are actually good to go for Win 10. http://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/19/SLN297954 Also you can go to Dell support and enter your service code, select Drives and you may or may not get a note as shown here.

I did six upgrades to Windows 10 from Windows 7, and 8,1. Four of Desktop are Dell.

We have Dell XPS 8700 with i7-4790/16 GB memory, Dell Dimension 9250/XPS 410 with upgraded quad processor Q6500 and 4 GB memory, and two Dell Dimension 9150 with Pentium D and 4 GB memory.

The upgrade went smoothly. No problem during and after installation.
With the exception of XPS 8700, they were old machines. Nevertheless it is still working!
I did not consult the Dell Web site but with a little luck, everything got done!

Other than the problems with solutions I mentioned in my posting my XPS8100 seems to be happy with Win 10. I am a bit concerned about the long run with required updates.

The Dell "approved" list does not include and Dimension computers or the XPS 410.

I have a Dell Inspiron 17 laptop which is also not on the list. The Get Windows 10 did say there is a problem with the WiFi driver so I cancelled the update request. So sometimes the Get Windows 10 does give the correct answer.
