Getting rid of installed updates from programs and features

Any way to do this? I want to use programs and features for my programs and games only. Ccleaner used to be able to do it, but it doesn't seem to be working anymore.

Solved by right clicking the update with revo uninstaller, clicking open registry key, creating a new dword parameter, naming it systemcomponent and setting its value to 1.

Perhaps you could explain your question with screenshots.

In what particular way do you find Ccleaner isn't working for you?

I use it to clean up with 1809..I don't update it any longer though.

Your "My Computer" specs show you have an ASUS motherboard, is it a user-built/custom computer or ASUS? Do you have an MSI product installed that should be shut down or disconnected before trying to remove the program?

It's a lenovo computer mostly, but the motherboard and graphics card has been replaced. I don't have any msi products installed in my computer.

MSI stands for "Microsoft Software Installer" for that extension, not a brand. You cannot hide Windows Updates, since it is coded into the OS.

Surely there must be a way to do it, since i used to be able to do it with ccleaner?

Can you show us a screenshot of exactly what you want to hide?

No there is zero way to hide updates or anything that gets installed on the OS. CCleaner can case more headaches than doing things that you think that it may be able to do, when it cannot.

Okay, I'm gonna take a stab at this!

If you are speaking of, what appears to be a dead programs entry, perhaps CCleaner Pro will do it but, I doubt it.

Most likely, the program has already been uninstalled but got corrupted somehow and left residue behind.
You could install the program again then try to uninstall it again, but that probably won't fix the dead entry problem either!

    So...
    you tried this...

..., and that didn't work, and the dead entry bugs you, (it would bug me!) so, short of a clean install, you'll have to hide the entry manually...

Open the Windows Registry, on the Menu click Edit, then Find, then type the exact name of the program in the dialog and press Enter...

you'll be on the watch for a CLSID with the program's install info, DisplayName, etc.,

if the first result doesn't bring it up, press F3 to Find Next until you see something similar to the following screenshot...

when you're there, right click an empty spot in the right hand pane, hover on New, click on DWORD (32-bit) Value, in the dialog that appears type SystemComponent, press Enter, give it a value of 1 and press OK.

Close the Registry, refresh the Programs and Features page and you should be set.
