W10.1607, Cumulative Updates installs successfully only until 2018-06

Hello today to this forum users.
Problem I faced few months ago:
Cumulative updates for my Windows 10 (1607), installs successfully until I reach 2018-06.
    For example:
    - 2018-04 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB4093120)
    - 2018-05 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB4103720)
No problems so far. But when I reach:
    - 2018-06 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB4284833)
Update installs, asks for PC restart, after restart there are some progress, but in the end, there is message as far as I remember, it says Update cannot be installed, reverting changes...

Before this update (KB4284833) I faced problem, when my PC could not even open MSU. There were message similar to "your pc does meet requirements" (don't remember exact message).
Then I found out that, before installing KB4284833, you need to install KB4132216.
Prerequisite: The servicing stack update (SSU) (KB4132216) must be installed before installing the latest cumulative update (LCU) (KB4284833). The LCU will not be reported as applicable until the SSU is installed.

I found this thread (https://msfn.org/board/topic/177510-...llation-of-cu/), where people seems like face similar problem.
But the solution wasn't easy to understand for me, because I have multiple (4) wcp.dll in WinSxS folder.

    OS. Windows 10 Pro, 1607, x64.

Hi Tempuser221218. Welcome to the TenForums @TEMPUSER221218

I'm sure you are aware that version of Windows 10 is no longer supported. Have you intervened to prevent it from updating to a supported version?

There is a windows update reset procedure which we normally tell members to "Check for updates".

I'm leary to suggest this as it might "Seek" the latest windows 10 which may not be what you want.

Could you also please fill in your spec with respect to machine details.

Yep I know that 1607 is no longer supported, and yes, I use "utility" to prevent windows to run update service.
But when I want to install updates, via this tool I re-enable update service, and installing updates (in my case cumulative 04 & 05 for example) works fine.

I don't like to search for updates via OS build-in tool, because often it tries to force me use 1709. That's why I stick with CU only.

    Machine:
    i5 4460, 12GB DDR3 1600, GTX660, SSD 240.

Can the problem be in these "Intel" security patches when in summer Spectre/Meltdown were discovered and "patched"?

Sorry that I don't know and given it is Windows, and you are altering it's known uniqueness , it could be anything.

You could try this Windows Update reset process and then do what you do to get updates. I recommend device not be connected to Internet when you run reset and then do a Restart. Then reconnect.

1709 will be off maintenance in four months.

Now I downloaded "Show or hide updates" MS utility, and there are option to Disable Updates, in my case I will try to disable Feature update, and then search for updates via OS build-in tool.

    I would not do that.

MS has changed the behaviour of "Check for Updates". These days if you check for updates you are considered a "Seeker" and it will potentially download 1809. Given your desire not to be on leading edge I would not be recommending 1809

I would recommend 1803 to anyone.

    Microsoft why U do this.
Windows 10 Update Assistant appeared on C drive, and it tried to install 18XX version, once again.
Just killed the process, and removed it. I faced this behavior some time ago, so I know what will happen after couple of restarts. =)

Interesting, now I have more info.
    In event viewer I got:
Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x800F0922: Update for Windows (KB4462928). October cumulative.

And there is good explanation about what this error means. (https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...e-28f99a075e50)

I have triple boot system, with Clover boot manager.

I can't see it being the Recovery partition, one can delete this if they want.

Now I've seen errors on this forum with System Reserved being to small and I'm not sure what or how Clover boot manager may uses it.

Might help members with suggestions if you post a disk management screen shot according to this tutorial. Watch you don't post private info in screen shot please.

On one hand, I want to try out 1803/09, on other I want to keep my stable system.
Can I revert update to 1607 after install?
