    Bree,
slmgr /ato failed but I'm in winver 1803 build 17134.345
and I'm not ready yet to update to 1809 to solve the problem
HP drivers are from 2015 so they are insensitive to 1809 problems. The way I see it MS should fix HP printers problems in some future update
MS is not responsible for fixing 3rd party drivers. What you are seeing here is typical of large companies like HP who just do not spend resources on fixing drivers for old devices i.e. blame HP not MS. HP do not care as they want you to buy a new printer.

Fortunately, there is a solution that often works i.e. set up pc to act as a google cloud print server and use that instead of directly printing to printer. This does require internet acess to work.

Today my Surface Pro 4 decided that I'd kept it off updating long enough and did a very long update. It's now at 1803.

It informed me that networking on my wi-fi home network had been removed, but it was easy to restore. But finding how has been impossible as searches only find out-of-date info. The networked HP 4650 (never used a cable with it) has also been removed from the SP4. Attempting to restore it, I have to enter it's 'WPS PIN', but I've no idea where to find it.

HP 'chat' wanted me to let him take-over my PC, but as he can't tell me where the PIN is held, he won't be able to proceed, just like me! Also what else would he do to my PC???

But my printer worked before and after the MS update it has gone. That's not HP.

Looks like I'll have to revert to the 1980s method of using removable media (floppy disk) to move files between PCs!

    EDIT:-

I've now found HP's "Software and Driver Downloads" page:-

    https://support.hp.com/gb-en/drivers...series/5447930

But the driver was updated on Apr 24, 2017 so won't know about the 1803 update.
