    Cannot Update My Computer

    Windows 10 64Bit

All my Autodesk products would not work anymore on my PC. I have been farting around to find a solution. That took me to making sure my PC is currently updated; the Autodesk technicians asked me to make sure. I completely removed all Autodesk traces from my PC (very tedious).

    Here are my issues:
    Cannot install any Autodesk products.
Reinstalled Windows (kept apps and settings)
Did windows updates, rebooted and re-updated but the version still stuck on v1803 (17134)
I could not even update manually.

At the update error, it seem KB4023057 does not exist in the Microsoft Catalog page.
However, for KB2538243, it exists in the catalog page but missing a component (from some network) that prevents it from installing.

The only solution would be re-doing my whole system which would be a 'nightmare' for me considering all the apps I would have to re-install. I can use PCTrans, but still will be tedious. I would not like to go this route since I would like to find out what the issues are simply for more knowledge. Honestly, I have thought of creating another OS (dual-boot) and install Autodesk, Corel and other demanding apps in the other OS boot.

    I have done these:
    - Emptied the update download folder.
    - Re-started Windows Installer in the Services.
    - Could not re-install .NET Framework since it is already installed in my system.
    - Disabled my Norton services.
    - Checked my Update settings and active period (Time).
    - Ran the SFC scan which completed but did not find an issue.
    - Ran the Microsoft Windows Update Troubleshooter which "Fixed" all.
    - Spent sleepless days and night trying to find a solution with the little knowledge I have about computers.

    Thanks

Hi, the latest available build of 1803 appears to be this: 17134.407
    Cumulative Update KB4467702 Windows 10 v1803 Build 17134.407 - Nov. 13 - Windows 10 Forums

What is your current Windows build?
    Windows key + R, winver

Mine is 1803 (17134.407). By the way, I usually type in “winver” in the search window (without the Windows key + R).
    Thanks!

So you're fully up to date... as far as Windows is concerned.

(The reason I use that instruction is that it works - or should work- in all cases... whether people have the search field hidden (as I have) or not. There are often a number of ways of achieving the same end... E.g. Windows key + S, winver).

    You then say
    Cannot install any Autodesk products.
Do you get an error message? What happens? Are these Win 10 compatible, and in particular compatible with 1803? Are you using a Win 10 compatible version? Is it necessary to install them in compatibility mode?

If there's an Autodesk forum, that may be a better place to ask.

Why I brought up the way I check the version is simple to be sure I am doing it the right way; one never knows.

Autodesk products are very compatible with the current Windows version. Their apps are designed to work better on Windows 10.

The Autodesk Community insists my Issue would be Windows. One of the technician also mentioned it. I made sure not remnant of Autodesk product was left in the system. The latter is one part of their product I don’t like. Even using their product since mid 1987. I have done all the users had done in the past in such situation, still, won’t work for me.

Yes, it gives me errors after initiating to install the selected modules of the app I was trying to install. Their products are ‘heavy’ with file size and very picky about installation.

So, with Windows, what’s up with the update 1809? It looks like the two stubborn updates I am having issues with is holding me up. One does not exist in Windows catalog and the other always has a hiccup during installation.

    Cheers!

Your Windows is fully up to date as far as 1803 is concerned. Why would you be looking to install other KB's?

1809- still a lot of unfixed issues- and MS is in no hurry to deploy it. There is a News article listing devices which are blocked by MS from receiving feature updates for compatibility reasons.

1803 - still an issue with setting default file type associations - supposed to be fixed by the end of this month. Well maybe.
