Okay, I went back into settings to look at the Activation tab, and this is what I'm seeing now. I haven't done a wipe/reinstall yet, but it's now saying that I have 10 Pro even though it told me the key was wrong when I had tried entering it.

Where did you get the product key W269N-WFGWX-YVC9B-4J6C9-T83GX from? Have you tried any other product keys? W269N-WFGWX-YVC9B-4J6C9-T83GX is a generic product key for KMS activation. You can't use KMS activation, as it is for corporations with volume licenses. You need the true Windows 10 Pro generic product key of: VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T or try the Windows 8 Pro product key provided to you by Showkey Plus.

I do what it says all the way until downloading it to the 8gb USB drive. It downloads all the way to 99%, but then when it should be finished, I get this error...
That one I can help you with. The Media Creation Tool fails with error code 0x80004005 - 0xA001A if the USB you ask it to use has a gpt partition. Commonly this is due to having previously used Rufus to format the usb.

...After failure, the USB is left 'unalocated'. You can create a new simple volume using Disk Management to make it accessible again but, critically, its is STILL using a gpt partition layout. Only DISKPART or a tool like MiniTool Partition Wizard can make it MBR again.

The MCT only fails after it has downloaded all the files it needs, verified them and created the media in preparation for copying it to the USB. It is not until this point that it attempts (and fails) to format the USB.
USB flash drive --assign drive letter back to dynamic from static Solved - Page 3 - Windows 10 Forums

The usb must have an MBR partition table otherwise the MCT cannot use it. This can be done with Diskpart commands.
    LIST DISK
(note down the disk number of the usb)
    SELECT DISK n
(use the appropriate disk number in place of 'n')
    CLEAN
    CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY
    SELECT PARTITION 1
    FORMAT FS=FAT32 QUICK
    SELECT DISK n
    CONVERT MBR
    EXIT

I think he installed from VL media, that is the Pro VL generic that replaced the Enterprise VL key... perhaps a clean install from retail media/image would be best.
