    Hi,

Windows iso downloader is warning me not to use the 1809 iso i did hear allot of people had problems installing it and microsoft pulled it.I never had problems installing this version.

The latest update KB4464330 is already installed so i feel like i have 2 options here

    1) Take the risc for an inplace upgrade repair install .
2)Simply wait until Microsoft corrected all the problems and only then proceed this is the safest.

I never disabled updates i do set it to notify me before downloading and installing.

Presumably you are trying to get an iso to do the repair. That, of course, could be a problem at present - would have been easy if you already had the one originally used- but I guess you did an online upgrade, so don't have one.

As you say, you could just wait- we don't know what MS will come up with for public release. Presumably an amended iso would be best, with a CU for others.

However, that means that with Windows Update not working, you wouldn't get the CU, and quite probably manually installing it won't fix your update problem..

Have you tried Tweaking.com's tool I mentioned previously?

Are you running any 3rd party AV.

On one machine I was using Bitdefender and was not receiving Defender updates. I realized this after responding to your post. I removed BD as an experiment and the definition updates came right down.

I have mcafee livesafe just disabled it no changes however the "dberr.txt" file is no longer being created makes me think the issue is gone but still no defender updates.

Hi. The correct procedure to reset Windows Update is:

    Download this script:
    Script Reset Windows Update Agent

Disconnect from internet (swith off router) and boot into safe mode. Run the script as administrator (right click option)

Choose option to Reset windows Update Components.

    Reboot.

Reconfigure Windows Update Settings [Winkey+I] > Windows Update.

Power off computer. Switch on router. Boot into windows and wait 5 minutes. Check for updates.

If no updates - run the script again but stay connected this time. Reboot when the script completes.

Please update if there was a failure with manual upgrades from the Microsoft website.
Sometimes the error messages and code can be troubleshooted.

    Hi,

I already tryed a bunch of such scripts they are getting me nowhere like this one always the same problem a bunch of errors in the catroot2 folder in a file called dberr.txt also i've never heared off you have to power off your router to get this stuff working again but he i'll give it a shot.

In the catroot2 folder there is also a file called edb.chk i did run chkdsk but it didn't reported any errors on my disk.
