Windows Update KB4464330 fails with 0x800F0922

    1. I have done Reset Windows Update in Windows 10 several times
    2. Collected a lot of useful log entries from four different tries

    Attachment 208057
    Attachment 208058
    Attachment 208059
    Attachment 208060

Comparing these log files should give some clues, but they differ a quiet bit. But what is constant in each try, must be the problem.

It has downloaded the update just fine, so it can't be the error for reaching the update server.

This is the first error that is same on all four log files:
    Code:
*FAILED* [80004003] Error deleting merged update folder (null)

This is the last error that is same on all four log files:
    Code:
    *FAILED* [8024000C] LoadHistoryEventFromRegistry completed

I have no VPN or proxy.

My Recovery partition has 95MB of free space, and EFI partition is empty.

Windows Update KB4464330 fails with 0x800F0922-image.png

Fifth, sixth and sevent log file to compare, they seem to look all pretty identical.

    Attachment 208075
    Attachment 208076
    Attachment 208078

Things I've done between tries (in no particular order):
    - Enabled .NET Framework 3 from turn on features
    - Turned off Secure Boot
    - DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
    - sfc /scannow

Press the Windows and "i" keys simultaneously, click "Update and Security", click "Troubleshoot" on the left side, then click "Windows Update" on the right.

Didn't work unfortunately. It marked stuff as "fixed", but after that I tried to install the update and it gave a same error:

    Attachment 208079

Thanks for advice still, I will keep trying.

I'm starting to conclude that the problem is around this line:

    Code:
*FAILED* [80004003] Error deleting merged update folder (null)
Because I have taken shots with my phone to compare the timestamps, around that line I get the "Could not complete, undoing..."

This was solved by waiting, the latest patch tuesday update KB4467708 installed correctly. Even though the KB4464330 failed fifteen times with error message 0x800f0922.

What can we learn about this? Well the error messages are ambiguous. If you search for 0x800f0922 almost all give few answers, even though it might be a problem in the update itself and will be resolved by just waiting for next update.
