Which cumulative updates are now needed for v. 1803?

    Hi,

For a while I was installing 3 cumulative updates from a local cache, saving 2.1GB of downloading for each machine, and this took care of the lion's share of updating. These updates are:
    kb4343909
    kb4346783
    kb4457128

But now there's another cum, kb4464218. Are all 4 of these necessary - making for an astonishing 2.7GB of updates to a new install - or does this last one obviate any of the previous ones?

    Thank you,
    Paul

Yes, the latest one is the only one you ever need - 'cumulative' means it contains all previous fixes

The latest one is now an even newer one: KB4458469...

    Cumulative Update KB4458469 Windows 10 v1803 Build 17134.320 Sept. 26 - Windows 10 Forums

@Bree - that is excellent. I hadn't considered that the update scheme worked that strictly. This lessens my work considerably. Thanks much.
@Ken - thanks for that. I've bookmarked it and will check it whenever I see a new large update.

    Thanks again!

I can lessen you workload some more. The only updates to routinely include new security fixes are those issued on 'Patch Tuesday', the second Tuesday of each month, so this is the only one you really need to bother about. Unless there's a exceptional new security bug discovered, any others in the month will just be non-security patches. You can safely wait for the next 'Patch Tuesday' update which will have the same patches in it, along with any new security fixes.

I'm refurbing machines, and I want them to have all updates before I ship them out. But doing the cums from local cache saves download bandwidth and time.
