KB4100347 breaks OC on specific CPU's - What to expect?

    Greetings.
New Microsoft/Intel microcode update KB4100347 breaks Haswell-E and Broadwell-E overclocks

Recording to Guru3d.com Microsoft update KB4100347 breaks the OC and return the CPU to default clock. What is likely to happen at this issue? A new BIOS/Firmware or a new patch from Microsoft?

Here is a snip of the text:

Multiple users on the X99 platform have confirmed and are reporting that their tweaks and overclocks are no longer working after they got Microsoft update KB4100347 installed. This is an Intel Meltdown related vulnerability microcode update.

Usually having to fix security issues does break customizations, both in the Operating System and in the hardware. I'm not a gamer and as such don't need OverClocking, most all of the computers I have [mostly rehabbed instead of junking] I just watch for normal performance of 2GHz or faster, my fastest Desktops run 3.2 to 3.4GHz.
