    Update ERROR (KB4346783) 0x80073701

    Hi,

I am trying to install update "Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-based Systems (KB4346783)" .
Win update downloads the update. Installs it. But at the end it gives Error 0x80073701

I tried Windows trouble shoot which Didn't help
There is a program called "pcwFixWindowsUpdate". It didnt help either.

    Can someone help me please.

    Running Windows 10 x64 Education

    Kind regards,

Hi Endlessfacepalm. Welcome to the TenForums @Endlessfacepalm

    Please run command

    sfc /scannow

    to a command prompt(admin) or powershell(admin)

The Internet seems to be littered with this error with no do this and it will fix that. So start with basics.

Okay run sfc /scannow two more times.

It can take three runs to clear.

    Okay.

If you are still having issues then I would recommend an in place repair.

Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

It is a non destructive process but I always recommend backing up your personal data.

I was unaware of that restriction. I will investigated.

I assume the editions don't match so it failed, correct?

Do you have 1803 boot media for Windows Education?

You could try DISM, step 5 in this tutorial

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Use DISM to Repair Windows 10 Image

I tried DISM 5-6 times followed by sfc /scannow and system restart, and it didnt help.
I am currently burning the 1803 Education iso file to a usb drive using rufus, and will let you know how it works out.
