Transferring Windows 10 license to another PC- FAIL

I purchased a full retail Win 10 pro license and the product was delivered digitally. I did a clean install on the machine I was intending to use, but subsequently decided I did not want to use that machine because of it's age, so I purchased a new computer. I expected that I would be able to transfer the license to the new PC, but when I install it, and try to activate, I get activation error 0xC004C003. I've called Microsoft support several time, which has not fixed it. I removed the license from the original machine with slmgr.

Can anyone tell me how t his is supposed to work.

First, whom did you purchase the Windows 10 from?

    On the new computer run:
    slmgr /upk
    slmgr /ipk insert-your-product-key-here
    slmgr /ato

    What is the result?

Good question. Some purported 'full retail' keys being sold on eBay/Amazon are actually volume MAK keys being sold illegally. Use the 'Check product key' feature in ShowKeyPlus to see if yours is really a Retail key.

Windows 10 Pro (full retail version) was purchased from Newegg and delivered by download.
I ran the above and after the slmgr /ato, there is a message that says the product key could not be used. When I ran the diagnostic tool from the troubleshooting thread, it said "invalid license" and "OEM key not present in firmware".

I would run the product key check posted by @Bree in post #3. Also, make sure that you installed the correct edition of Windows 10 on the computer - just plain Pro version, not Home, not N Pro, not Education.

It sounds to me like you got a bad product key from Newegg.

Make sure you are using the Check Product Key function:

And do you have Windows 10 Professional installed? What does slmgr /dlv return? You do NOT need to block any info in the return, none of it is unique to your Windows license:
