Motherboard product key does not match the one in settings?

Hi all, I've been using a Cube Mix Plus tablet that I bought new about a year ago, somehow I've failed to spot until now that the copy of Windows 10 installed on it is not activated.
Troubleshoot tells me its "found a Windows 10 Home Digital Licence for this device running Windows 10 Pro". I've no idea if it's always been like that, I certainly haven't upgraded to Pro myself.
Anyway I thought as step one I'd try to find the whole product key that's installed on it, which I did via the command prompt. But the last 5 characters don't match the last 5 that are displayed in Settings>Update & Security>Activation.
Any idea why that would be? I'm not hugely conversant with this stuff so apologies if I'm being a dumbass.
FWIW there's an error code too, 0x8007232B. Any assistance much appreciated. Thanks!

Great thank you. A redux from the Activation Diagnostic Tool (the whole thing had a VERY long Errors From Event Log, but if you'd like to see it say the word!):

    OEM Keys: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-WB6F9

At some point in time, someone changed the product key of the installed Windows 10 to:
    W269N-WFGWX-YVC9B-4J6C9-T83GX

This is the volume license product key for Windows 10 Pro and will not activate Windows except in a corporate environment where there is a KMS server present to activate the Windows 10 on the network.

You can try this to downgrade back to Windows 10 Home:

Open Registry Editor(WIN + R, type regedit, hit Enter)

Browse to key HKEY_Local Machine > Software > Microsoft > Windows NT > CurrentVersion

Change EditionID to Home (double click EditionID, change value, click OK). In your case it should at the moment show Pro

Change ProductName to Windows 10 Home. In your case it should at the moment show Windows 10 Professional

Browse to key HKEY_Local Machine > Software > Wow6432Node > Microsoft > Windows NT > CurrentVersion, change the same two values as in steps 3 and 4 above

    Close the Registry Editor

Insert the Windows 10 Homeinstallation media, do an in-place upgrade by launching the setup from desktop (not booting with Windows 10 Home install media)

When asked, enter your validWindows 10 Home product key and select what to keep(settings, personal files and apps, only personal files or nothing)

Windows 10 Home in-place upgrade will be done now.

Hey Navy thanks for the reply, really appreciate it - will it work if I have no installation media? The tablet just arrived with Windows pre-installed.

You need to make the installation media:
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/windows10

I would recommend you use DISM to export the drivers to a USB flash drive or SD card:
    Code:
    Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.17134.228]
    (c) 2018 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

    C:\Windows\system32>dism /online /export-driver /?

Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool
    Version: 10.0.17134.1

    Image Version: 10.0.17134.228

    /Export-Driver /Destination:<path_to_destination_folder>

Export all third-party driver packages from a Windows image to a destination path.

        Examples:
          DISM.exe /Online /Export-Driver /Destination:D:\destpath
D:\destpath needs to be changed to a drive and folder you create to hold the drivers. This can be the same USB flash drive installation media that was created with the Media Creation Tool.

I would also recommend you run showkey plus on the tablet:
    ShowKeyPlus

That will tell you exactly which version of Windows the OEM -WB6F9 product key is for.

Hi again Navy, finally had time to make the install media on a USB stick, and exported the drivers to it.

Just to check I understood right - to export them I typed the following into the command prompt at c:\windows\system32:

    DISM.exe /Online /Export-Driver /Destination:\drivers

D:\drivers being the folder I made for the purpose, did I do that right?

Also, what do I do with the drivers once I've done the downgrade?

Oops just noticed that post got a bit garbled, let me try again. I meant to say:

    "I ran :

    DISM.exe /Online /Export-Driver /Destination D:\drivers

D:\drivers being the folder I made for the purpose, did I do that right?

Also, what do I do with the drivers once I've done the downgrade?"

Any further assistance much appreciated, thank you!

After the clean install of Windows, if you have any unknown devices or exclamation points in Device Manager, you can right click on that entry and select the option to Update Drivers and browse your computer for drivers. Then point it to the drivers folder you created. Make sure the checkbox for subfolders is also checked. That will load the driver for the non-working or unknown hardware.

If you don't have any unknown devices or exclamation points in device manager, then you probably won't need to manually install any drivers.
