Latest update shrunk my desktop icons & text

    Hi guys/girls

Bit of a strange one here which has affected both my windows 10 pro desktop and laptop. After updating, desktop 10 days ago and laptop this morning, all the desktop icons and text shrunk on both machines, the layout also changed too, with all the icons overlapping, I always have my desktop icons set to “medium”, but now I I’ve had to change them to “small” icons because in medium I can’t get the same amount of icons in a column as they greatly overlap each other, making the icon text unreadable, even the rows are bunched up now too when set to medium. Does anyone know what’s going on, it seems a BIG coincidence that this happened to both my machines after the latest updates (April 2018 updates I believe).

    Cheers

    Dave

    Did resolution change ?
You know you can hold Ctrl button and mouse wheel up and down to change desktop sizes ?

No, resolution didn’t change on either machine, after machines rebooted all the desktop icons shrunk and moved to the top left of screen in the exact layout they were in before the update.

So just sizes changed ? Try that "trick" with Ctrl + mouse wheel.

    That didn’t work either mate.

This is how it looked after the update, you can see how the icons underneath sit over the above icons title.

This is how it should look on my screen, albeit with larger icons

Still sipping first coffee, but other than the whole thing is upside down, that area where the icons are looks almost exactly like the upper left quadrant of a screen. As if it were split into 4 separate desktops, and that being the 1st, upper left quadrant. Perfectly molded to that 1/4 area.

Thats what I thought at first, but couldn’t find any indication in my settings. Image url should be right way up now.

That just brought up some timeline thingy, where I removed everything, no change to desktop though.
