What to do with KB4056254?

    What to do with KB4056254?

The migration to 1803 has been a terrible experience so far. After 5 failed install attempts with a rollback each time, I no onger get update notification for 1803. However, now I have two updates pending: KB4056254 and KB4134661. KB4134661 is essentially worthless as it apparently only gives annoying messages for a 1803 update. Now, I get KB4056254 that is supposed to smooth things over in Microsoft Update so 1803 can be installed. This is one big mess, and Microsoft has dropped the ball once again. Of course, I always have a "way back" with timely system images thank goodness.

My question is what exactly does KB405624 really do? I am really tired of errors from Microsoft updates. Before I install it and go through a lot of mess again, I would like to know more about the update. I have 10 Pro, so now the update is on hold.

Yes, it is quite curious. I am hesitant to install KB4134661 until I know more about it. I may add, my current maintenance level is 1709 (OS Build 16299.492}. Given my current maintenance level, theoretically, I should not even receive this update. Microsoft has managed to make this one confusing mess!

Has anyone on 1709 installed KB4134661? Information from various sources on the internet indicate it is for 1703 and less, which would make it irrelevant to me since I am on 1709 Build 16299.492. However, there it is ... waiting See attached screen shot). I want to know more about it before I do anything with it.

Update: After two alerts this week indicating that finally 1803 was ready for download. I installed all pending updates along with the 1803 update both times. Both attempts resulted in rollbacks ... once again. Both times, the updates ignored my settings on gpedit to alert me and wait for download and installation. Both slammed on my system, only to fail. This makes a total of 9 attempts to install 1803 on my laptop. What in the world is going on with Microsoft and these error riddled updates?
