    How to stop updates from downloading automatically ?

    I'd like to have updates set to download at users convenience or at a specific time of day.
    Is it possible in windows 10 ?

    Hi, - how do you stop updates downloading automatically? It seems you have Pro, so you can set downloads to Notify using Group Policy. That means you then choose when to download and install them.

    You may also be aware of Active Hours in Settings that limits when your PC may be restarted.

    Also note that Group Policy allows you to defer feature updates, and schedule installs.

    (The Tutorial section includes tutorials with details of Notify and Defer).

    A useful free tool which also helps with Notify and more is Windows Update Minitool.

    Hi, thanks for the group policy in
    Computer Configuration->Administrative Templates->Windows Components->Windows Update->Configure Automatic Updates.

    Is it possible to export/import it like you do with registry keys ? I dont use Active Directory so it's probably not possible.

    After you have chosen '2 - Notify for download and auto install', is it still possible to schedule for the update to occur (download and install) at a specific time ? I imagine not.

    Thanks for the help.

    Rt click offers a txt export option.

    Of course you could find the registry key...

    - so scheduled is option 4, exclusive of option 2.
