No notification that 1803 is available

    Hello,

Why I dont get a notification that 1803 is available and ready to install for my system?
But when I click on "search for updates" 1803 is shown an the update process is starting.

Automatic Windows Updates is activated. Nothing is blocked. All other Windows Updates were installed.

    Any ideas?

Do you have feature updates deferred in group policy?

It`s best to download the Iso file and run setup from within windows.

I had the same problem with W10 Home. No notice for two weeks that 1803 was available, despite WU automatically checking every day, but when WU was manually selected a few hours after a no hit auto update check, 1803 downloaded and installed (without issue). Supposedly, WU wouldn't auto download until the subject system had passed MS verification as being able to support the new version. I've been having this same issue for several cumulative updates dating back to the v.1709 bld. 16299.248 update. I've not figured out why, but after awhile, I got to liking it as WU wouldn't auto update until I triggered it. Gives one time to read the reviews before subjecting one's computer to a suspect update.

I would wait until the update is offered via WU since there may be a compatibility issue.

Supporting that comment, please note also that the cumulative update following 1803 upgrade has caveats which are being updated as user experience of that grows. Not only are some having difficulties with the upgrade, but also the subsequent update...

Please note our continuing recommendation to ensure you have an up to date disk image (e.g. using Macrium Reflect (free) ) so you have something to revert to when things go badly wrong.
