Update to Windows 10, Version 1803 kills Lenovo laptop
A couple of days ago, update 1803 for Windows 10 Home (64 bit) installed on our desktop with no problems. However, today 1803 tried to install on our Lenovo Z50-70 laptop (also 64 bit Windows 10). We left the house, and when we got back, the laptop screen asked what keyboard I wanted to use. Uh oh, this didn't look good. I selected US, and then it took me to the Choose An Option page. Here are the options that were presented:
... Continue. Exit and roll back
... Use a device (USB, network, etc.)
... Use another operating system
... Troubleshoot (Reset PC or see Advanced Option)
... Turn off your PC
I'm an experienced PC user, but no genius by any means. I selected the first option, which gave three options for rolling back, none of which worked. Nothing in the second option seems to apply. I don't have another operating system, so the third option is out. Troubleshoot seemed like the most likely place to go, but nothing there helps. Then I selected the last option to turn off the PC. Upon restarting, nothing is any better. It just starts the cycle over again with selecting a keyboard.
It seems to me that something got corrupted during the update process. Where do I go from here? Thanks for your help.
