Can't Turn Toggle Switch On, In Update Options Advanced Settings

    As the thread title states.
I try to turn on automatic updates.
Using the provided toggle switch within Update Options,
but it keeps turning itself off.

I've prepared a GIF which demonstrate the issue I'm having.

This seems kind of odd to me.
Why would the switch keep turning itself back to off like this?

I still haven't figured out why this is happening.
    I'm also not sure,
if this is having any effect on the Windows updating process.
Any ideas out there, on what might be happening here?

    Hello George, :)

If you set the setting below via .reg file instead, does it stick for you in Settings?

If not, then you might see if doing a repair install can fix this for you without losing anything.

    @Brink

    Thanks for replying.

I checked the registry setting and it is enabled.

I've run an scf scan as well as a disk check,
All is reported as good, i.e. without issue.

I've also tried shutting down my security software and this had no effect.
The behavior was still the same, with my security software shut down.

I recently did a fresh installation of 1803 back on April 10th and all went well.
Seems strange that I would need to do a repair/in-place upgrade already.

It is an odd bug you have there.

If that is the only thing wrong, you could wait until the next build or update to see if it may sort it for you without trying a repair install.

I think I'll wait for the next build.
Everything is running pretty well, that I can tell, except for this issue.

    However,
I did go into Safe Mode, with networking and ran the Troubleshooter for Windows Updates and it found something.
The fix that was offered, was to delete the update database and reinstall it.
This fix was applied, without effect to this issue.

    Thanks for replying.

    Yes I will.

    By the by...
I ran the troubleshooter for Windows Updates 3 times (once in Safe Mode).
Each time it found the same issues.
It wanted me to apply the same fix it found while in Safe Mose.
I'm not sure how helpful or effective this troubleshooter is.
If it keeps offering the same fix, for what seems like an all together different issue.

    Anyway,
    thanks again.

That option also won't toggle on my system. Not worried. Waiting until the next update.
