FYI ... I am having issues trying to install 1803 also. It abended with a rollback to the previous Windows version three times now. After the 3rd abend, 1803 no longer shows up. See the attached screenshot for this, but now there are two apparently unrelated updates pending. One is MS related and one is HP related. Very strange to say the least. It sure seems like Microsoft is not testing their updates very well at all!

You might want to try visiting the Download Windows 10 page, and using the Media Creation Tool to build a bootable installer for 1803. You can try an upgrade install from those media, and if it fails again, you might want to consider a clean install instead. Either way, though, you'll want to use a tool like Macrium Reflect Free beforehand to create a current system image. You'll also want to create a Macrium Rescue Disk. That way, if anything truly goes south, you can reboot using the Rescue Disk and restore the backup you made to return your system to operating condition. I've used this strategy myself at least a half-dozen times when trying to force upgrades to "take" on systems that have failed to upgrade "normally." That's why I'm convinced the strategy is workable if you take the time and precautions necessary to do it right.

Update: Downloaded/installed the updates. No problems yet, but the install is fresh. Of course, I always have a current system image. Personally, I don't care much for Macrium and use the Windows system image creation.
