Windows 10: 1803: Is Windows Update automatically checking for updates? Solved

Reading this thread with great interest and finally got the confirmation I was looking for. Yes, automatic updates are working differently in 1803. Regardless of whether I re-start my desktop, cold start, or, leave it in the default power setting of hybrid sleep, Defender checks very often for updates on its own. As for Windows Update, I can re-start, cold start or leave the machine on and Windows Update won't automatically check for 26-30 hours. Of course, manually checking always works but that seems to throw off the automatic schedule. 1803, in more ways than one, is quite an eye-opener.

You do have the box still checked that says "Give me updates for other MS products when I update Windows"?
I did, but I didn't check the box myself. Version 1803 must have checked it.
