Windows 10 Update Error Code: 0x80073712

Problem Solved….I did a system restore to a restore point back at the beginning of the month and then tried to do Windows Update….the 04-18 update failed again. I tried the Windows Update Trouble Shooter (again) and it could not repair the update database in windows. Next, I ran the Reset_Reregister_Windows_Update_Components.bat file from the below tutorial. Rebooted and the update finally ran successfully. Note, I tried this same process before doing the system restore and it would not work….but the combination worked.
