another way to get Creators Update (spring)

    Hi there

This appears to look OK but if I'm breaking any rules @mods please delete.

How To Download Windows 10 Spring Creators Update Before Anyone Else?

This downloads the ESD's -- there's a whole slew of them including GB for GB version if you don't want US English edition. Files seem to be OK, and genuine Ms.

For the wim tool right click on the link rather than mouse click. This converts ESD to ISO.

Works fine -- iso created OK and USB bootable stick made with rufus.

    Cheers

    Hi,

    First, this not new.
Second and most important, 1803 RS4 release has issues! That's the reason of release delay.

Here, when 1803 RS4 (SCU) was clean installed (twice), there were some Start menu issues (corrupted user profile) and at least one unresolved big issue: There was no way to turn off "Background Apps" on Settings/Privacy/Background Apps. After a restart it was On again.

So, I returned to my secure and nice working 1607 and I think I'll stay here having no more concern for any kind of updates. I have to mention that one of my PC still runs Win XP, perfectly and secure(for me).

Perhaps, after the official release, give it again a try.

I'm so glad I had the patience to wait for the public release :)

No, now that 1607 is officially past its 'end of service' date of 10th April there'll be no more pesky 'cumulatives' to bother you. You may want to watch out for (and hide) KB4023814 though, or you'll get the Update Assistant installed.

I'm sticking to my 'secure and nice working' 1709. :)

    Hi there

I always try these out as VM's first -- actually I have had ZERO issues with it !!! but of course depends on your hardware and what you are actually running.

I won't put this on to a physical box until the proper release is out - but sometimes it's good to have a go with stuff --and I don't want the insider program -- got too many other things to do.

    Cheers

So far on Version 1803 Build 17133.1 -- I still have control over my background Apps.

    Hi,
So, I have the proper hardware for v.1709 but not for v.1803 which has been clean installed three(!) times.
Two times using En-Gb file (.esd) and one using En-Us file, both Pro x64, on a real machine not VM.

The result is exactly the same: on restart "Background Apps" is always ON.

    Perhaps, the place I live...

At the present time the reissue of the RTM has NOT happened, there are a lot of unsubstantiated reports stating that this and that build number is the RTM - The Release Preview is normally a week to ten days before the RTM Release is announced and it can be several weeks before a particular Build is converted into the RTM. So basic state of things is that despite of the rumour Mill we do not know when the RTM will arrive or what Build the RTM is.

Best option to get the RTM early whilst minimising the risk of damage to, or loss of, your data, is to sign up to the Insider Program - Release Preview Ring, and stay on it, (jumping off and on the Insider can actually delay the date of getting the upgrade.

And please remember if you are considering upgrading from unofficial methods you have to provide your own support system, things can go wrong, make sure you have data backups before you bother with system backups, It's easy to recover a windows system is far from easy to do the same for all those irreplaceable photos and other data

Installed 1803 from a converted ISO back before April 10th, after backing up all the data, currently having no issues--in place upgrade at the time, planning clean install when real build comes out whenever that is. So far runs all my games good, and such. I know was taking a risk, I just couldn't wait lol

This time gonna wait for official release, then clean install, and should be all set after that I hope
