OK, FIRST backup all your KEY text files to an external drive or thumbdrive.

Next try to do a full system reset again and make sure you select Windows Core/Home in any possible dialog boxes that appear. Once installed, check which Edition got installed and do the ShowKeyPlus thing again. You should have Core/Home installed now.

If this is not the case, then we possibly need to check the system restore image.

All this sounds to me they swapped your HDD at HP service center and the image on it is Windows Pro.

Next step is to download the WindowsMediaCreation tool and create an ISO with it. But let's do that procedure after you have tested the recovery image one more time.

OH! Yes, if the reset does not work, then restore the Macrium image and check the licencing status. If it is activated then we take a backup of the digital licence and you should get an activated, clean install, one way or another.

Yes, a clean install is required, either Pro or Home should work from non-VL installation media

"Activation failed because this device doesn't have a valid digital entitlement or product key. Error code: 0x803FA067"

This issue occurs if the following conditions are true:
You use volume-licensed media to install one of the following operating systems:
    •Windows 10
    •Windows 8
    •Windows 7
    •Windows Vista Enterprise
    •Windows Vista Business

    •Windows Server 2012
    •Windows Server 2008
    •Windows Server 2008 R2
•The activation wizard cannot connect to a Key Management Service (KMS) host computer.

    Product Activation - Dell Community
We have proven that the VL-install does not like the licence switch to OEM/Retail...
eg here: Can't activate Windows no matter what I do Solved - Page 3 - Windows 10 Forums

BTW: Mind-boggling how quickly HP support relinquishes responsibility - their service centre obviously used the VL install media (see my test in the link above) - also they could see that there was a Pro DM key installed initially, which only their service centre could have installed... go figure!

This page talks about the TPM, sounds like it's above most users/consumers but aimed at enterprise applications.

As for the expiration, I have 2 IP/Insider Preview computers that previously showed 7/2/2018 for expiring but with the latest Version 1803 Build 17133.1 install is no longer showing it. Maybe it's getting closer to release?

Considering we want a clean slate, clearing the TPM may be the only option.

The idea is to have the latest install media from MS, Download Windows 10 ISO File Windows 10 Tutorials and clean install... it will probably automatically install Home due to the firmware key, but if you want Pro, you will have to modify sources folder by adding a pid.txt with the Pro key inserted, to over-ride the Home key.

Since you are doing a full system reset, you should clear the TPM. That will make sure no one will ever again have access to any old encrypted data on your drive.

    Yep, as Superfly said. :)
