Hmmm...my download for the ISO has been going for over 30 minutes now, and is stall at 0% progress. I have 100Mb Internet access. Beginning to think it's problematic.

Here, try the Windows ISO Downloader tool here - grabs them directly from MS.
Microsoft Windows and Office ISO Download Tool

Having been away from tactical IT for a while, it's amazing what I don't know

I presume I should select Windows 10 as opposed to 'New additions'. (Not sure if new additions means latest/greatest).

NVM...I selected Windows 10 latest edition, and it is already downloaded. The other was still at 1%.

    Continuing on.

    Just a point of note:

I watched the video from Ten Forums from one of the lniks above, and the video in another link above. ONe of them DID install updates, and one of them DID NOT.

In my case I will not be selecting install updates, as updates are failing and that's why I'm going through this process at all.

FYI...I'm providing how it's going etc as I go along hoping it will be helpful if anyone is following the thread for their issues. I suppose many would prefer I do it in one post, but I may miss something if I try to do that later.

Why would I do that when I apply updates they fail? I do plan to do them after the repair. Given your recommendation, I guess I can try that, because...

I need to start over anyway. Not sure what to think about this. I get the following message:

We can't tell if you have enough space to continue installing. Try restarting setup.
So, I'm going to do that now.

How much room is available on your drive?
    Are you sure you're virus-free?
You'd want to grab the updates when doing the repair - makes things go better.

Before you try again, please download and run this:
    ADWCleaner
    Downloads - AdwCleaner - ToolsLib
Tell me if it finds anything on the system.

Also open up File Manager>This PC and tell me how much space is available on your OS drive.

I'd also like you to run CHKDSK on your OS drive, and check its overall health with Crystal Disk Info.
