Windows Update does not install KB4088776 on my computer

    I agree with @mrgeek and his analysis. I was going to recommend that very thing and the same tutorial but he beat me to it. I just recently ran this with my production PC (has over 200 apps and applications installed) and it made it through the process unscathed. You will have to reset some preferences after performing this procedure but your apps and applications should be intact.

    Credit to Jeff in this thread that he started and resolved on his own. Looked like a similar issue a lot of people have had lately of failed updates and revert to prev. I would prefer to use the MCT to make an ISO but this method may be quicker and easier for some folks. -

I tried it through the updater and manual download from microsoft. Both fail, attached is my windowsupdate.log file. Edit, I ran the windows update troubleshooter, and attempted a newer update. Still no dice.
