Windows 10 update issue error 0x800706c2

I am having issues with Windows 10 Updates. I have checked the forums and can't seem to find anything related. Here is what I have tried so far. I have emptied the downolad folder at C:Windows/SoftwareDistribution/Download and tried running checking for updates - downolading and installing but still get warnings. Here is what I am seeing.

This is what I see when I check Windows Update

At this point, everything looks like it is going OK. I select restart from here.

I get this message stating that the update couldn't be completed.

This report shows the failed updates. Latest one is code 0x80070bc2

Hi, as you will see here:
    Cumulative Update KB4074588 Windows 10 v1709 Build 16299.248 - Feb. 13 - Windows 10 Forums
    - some have had problems installing it- one post reports needing to do an in-place repair install first, for example.

(Useful to know there's a thread per update per build in the News section).

This is not the latest update: you may wish to try jumping straight to the current one:
    Cumulative Update KB4090913 Windows 10 v1709 Build 16299.251 - Mar. 5 - Windows 10 Forums

noting the threads also provide manual download links.

(There are no results in the forum for error number 0x800706c2)

I was able to download and manually install the latest update but I'm still getting the same messages as above.

In the next month or two there will be a new major build. You may prefer simply to hide the failing updates (so they don't bother you) and wait for the next build upgrade.

You could spend time trying to fix this, or do that and move on.

    To hide updates:
A convenient way is to use Windows Update Minitool (free). Or see
Hide or Show Windows Updates in Windows 10 Windows 10 Tutorials

Or you could try the Windows Update troubleshooters:
    - the one built in to Windows
    or
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/...troubleshooter

Otherwise you could do an in-place upgrade repair install which keeps all progs and data and most settings and then the latest cumulative update would be applied.
