Capricious Windows 10 Updates

Capricious is my own characterization. I miss win 7 when it comes to control of updates. Still running 1703.So with win 10 pro I believe I have done all that I can do to forestall updates for as long as possible (see pic) however when I closed down yesterday I got the message that updates were going to be installed come hell or high water so I just let it and upon reboot I looked to see what fresh hell might be awaiting me and saw this.

(Only certain builds of Windows 10 Versions 1507, 1511, 1607, and 1703 require this update. Devices that are running those builds will automatically get the update downloaded and installed through Windows Update.)

So the third one failed. Anyone have an idea why my win 10 pro was "undeserving" of this update? TIA.

Yup, that was the same conclusion that I came to and it only takes the sting out just a little : ) Any clue why the third one failed? and what dalchina says above. Even if I was notified those updates are still going to install, right? Active Hours does not really help me since at some point when I turn the computer back on and then shut down the delayed updates are going to install anyway, right? I have read before about the Windows Update Minitool. That tool is if I am not mistaken it is not going to actually forestall the updates any longer then I already have been able to. Is that right. No, but if you want to stay on 1703 you don't want it. The purpose of KB4023057 (along with KB4023814) is to install (and regularly run) the Update Assistant to try to update you to 1709

I suppose I could "hide" them but it's funny how some things irk you and others don't. It seems that I have it set up correctly so that the Fall Creators Update will not be installed for some time and frankly I get a little snarky satisfaction seeing KB4023057 FAIL now knowing what it's intentions are. Is that right KB4023057 FAIL will continue to fail considering the way I have my updates configured? I believe that the Fall Creators Update was just within the past month released to administrators as safe so it it will still be a while before it is auto updated for me (that is if I do not do it manually myself sooner). The Hide or Show Windows Updates in the Windows 10 link that you provided is from 07/2015.Do you believe that the instructions are still applicable in 02/2018 or is there a better way or more recent method to "hide" updates? TIA.
