GSOD when updating to Win 10 Insider Preview 17074.1002

Hello, this is my first post here and unfortunately it is with a problem.I installed windows 10 pro clean install version 1709 no problems and it updated itself with the feature update. It then downloaded 17074 and it will not install at all.It will run though to 2nd boot stage and throws up a GSOD and the message inaccessible boot device.i have tried all the options shown on the web including BIOS update. The problem complicates itself even more because i can install 17025 downloaded from microsoft website.I cannot switch off insider preview builds because i am on a preview build 17025.any advice would be very helpful b4 i totally lose the will to live.

    Hello chronos55,

    Welcome to TenForums!

Have you tried updating to Insider build 17083? You may find this one will work whereas 17074 has failed for a number of people.

i tried 17083 earlier as it was downloaded by ms updater it did not work either.I have since changed to slow ring and therefore getting 17074.AbdellahASKI i think mine is a different problem as it is to do with inaccessible boot device.I have even tried a clean boot with these downloads by making an ISO and then a usb stick using rufus but there is no option to create a partition on my ssd.It will delete it or format but then unable to create the new partition.

I have read this b4 and made up an ISO using Kari's tutorial and it was same result.I reckon I have tried to install 17074 and 17083 about 30 odd times. As I said in first post 17025 installed no problem so I am wondering if the is a problem with the make up of the installation files etc.

Apparently you are not alone - some insiders have just decided to wait for the Redstone 4 release in a few weeks time.

Apologies for bringing thread up again but i have solved the issue but created another.I partitioned my c drive and did a fresh install of IP 17017.This installed no problem but i now have 2 windows drive showing up in "my PC".I am assuming it is because the are both sharing the boot file.Is the any way round this because it is very annoying. Thanks in advance.

Are these two separate partitions such as C: and D:? You need to find out which one is being used by the operating system and which is the boot partition, hopefully they will be the same partition and if so you should be able to delete the one you no longer need.

Disk Management can be used to determine what is going on.
