    win10 update/upgrade resets network settings

Really Microsoft needs to reconsider the whole Win10 update philosophy.. We will now take remedial action so that updates will no longer be applied as the the result can cause severe business issues.

Yesterday, were we performing a system clean up which does necessitate reboots - we also took the precaution of deferring updates for 3 days. However Microsoft knows best and went to do a major upgrade.

First this wasted a lot of time as in effect the system which acts as a server was unavailable for over an hour which in itself is intolerable. Secondly and more critically the upgrade changed/reset the network settings.

These events cause a business risk, so we will now stop all Windows updates, Windows updates for us now is a bigger risk than being infected with malware, we have backups and redundancy but we cannot allow Microsoft to do as they please. Frankly Microsoft's vision is grossly misplaced - whoever dreamed this up should be removed from office.

It's true as discussed in other threads that upgrades change certain settings and can break a few programs. I quite agree with you. It is sadly necessary to act cautiously and defensively.

However you will need to make the case to MS - e.g. via the feedback app or one of their forums- perhaps even by letter!
