Kb4056892 installed then tries to install again
While using my PC this morning the mouse and keyboard stopped responding.
I pressed the Reset key on my machine and it started the restart process. Partially through the restart it said
"Unable to install - reverting"
After it completed this process, I went to Updates and it said KB4056892 awaiting restart so i clicked on Restart and
the system restarted.
Went to Updates and checked history and it said KB4056892 was installed successfully on 1/5/18.
Checked with Winver and it says my build is Version 1709 (OS Build 16299.125).
Went back to updates and it said KB4056892 downloading, waiting for install, restart required.
Did the restart again and it said "unable to install - reverting.
So it appears the update installed on 1/5/18 but keeps attempting to reinstall and my build version remains at
16299.125.
At this point I don't know if KB4056892 is installed (properly) since it it constantly trying to reinstall.
I know there are issues with this KB, but if I use the tool to ignore the update (which Windows says is installed) I
probably wont get future updates to get me to the build number I should be at.
Looking for suggestions on how to proceed or should I just wait to see if MS sorts this all out?
